The initial assessment last up to an hour, this allows an in-depth conversation to take place regarding your current issue/injury and how this affecting you. We can then complete a thorough physiotherapy assessment discuss the findings and recommendations and then put a structured rehab program in place.
Rebel Physio’s philosophy revolves around quality and intent, in the first session you will go through each exercise, and you will be taught the exact way to perform them. You will be given a document with all the exercises on with videos for you to review and a place for you to record your progress. This appointment also gives you time to ask question and get a full understanding of the issue and how we are going to work to resolve it.
It is advised follow up appointments are also an hour (although we do have 30 minute appointments available) so we can catch up on your progress, complete any hands on treatment needed and go through your rehab and any new exercises which will be included within your new rehab plan.
For people who are unable to attend the clinic due to other commitments or location we offer online support. This is done in a very similar way to the in-person sessions but are done over Teams/Zoom etc.

Many athletes I have worked with know it is impossible to go through a career without getting injured. But they have commented, they know they cannot fully prevent injuries from happening but if they do get injured, they want to know they have done everything they can to try and prevent them from happening and minimise their impact.
Some of the main causes of sport related injuries are past injury history, age and training load/exposure. It is not possible to stop injuries from occurring but there are many ways to try and minimise the chances of them happening.
This program starts by having a thorough look at all aspects of your life both as a person and an athlete, we will go through your history and plans/goals for the future. By doing this we can devise a program and schedule that moves you towards your goals.
Your program will include exercises that target previous injuries and weaknesses highlighted during the assessment, training plan/load and finally we may touch on slightly more innovative approaches such as maximises your breathing techniques for performance.
All this is with the overall aim of improving your ability to complete the training you need to reach your goal whether that be completing a marathon or 400m personal best through to preventing niggling calf or hamstring injury that has plagued you for the past two season and restricted you playing time.
